Any Questions? Check out our FAQs …

To help plan your Haunted Highways experience, we’ve put together some info which we hope you find helpful. If there’s anything else you’d like to talk to us about, please get in touch using the contact details at the foot of this page - thank you.

Where do I board the Haunted Highways Tour?

Our Mostly Ghostly guides will welcome you outside Coach and Horses, 66 Whitesands, Dumfries, DG1 2RS, where the coach will be parked 15 minutes before the tour starts. This location is also the end point of our tour.

What time does the tour begin and how often does it run?

The tour is likely to run two or three times a year with the possibility of more regular tours based on demand. Please see Tickets Please! for more details.

How long does the tour last?

Approximately two and a half hours - times may vary

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets are available via the Midsteeple Box Office in Dumfries and online at Ticketsource. Find out more on the Tickets Please! page.

Do we need to book in advance?

Yes, due to the nature of the tour, booking and advance payment is essential.

Are there any age restrictions on the tour?

Due to health and safety, we accept children aged 12 and above on the tour. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and we remind parents/carers that content may be disturbing for those of a nervous disposition; therefore children’s attendance is at parents/carers discretion.

Are their toilet facilities on the coach?

There are no toilet facilities on the bus, however we can have a short comfort break at Annan

Can we choose where to sit on the coach?

We operate on a first-come, first-served basis, however if e.g. there is a reason that you require to sit at a particular part of the coach, please contact us to discuss your needs. We are happy to make arrangements on a discretionary basis.

What about mobility access?

These coaches do not have wheelchair access; if you have any specific mobility, hearing or vision-related enquiries, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our friendly guides will do their best to assist you and ensure you are fully informed before planning to attend an event.

Can I bring refreshments?

Yes, you are very welcome to bring along juice and light snacks (no hot food), however no alcohol whatsoever is allowed to be brought onto or consumed on the coach.

Will we be on the coach for the entire trip?

The majority of the tour will take place on the coach with a couple of brief stop-off points en route. We recommend you bring season-appropriate clothing e.g. hat and gloves in case of cold/wet weather.

Can we take photographs on the tour?

We encourage participants to take photos where it is safe and appropriate to do so; the tour takes place on very busy stretches of road and safety is of primary importance. Our guides are happy to pose for photos with you before or after the tour. We operate a strict no video policy during our presentations.
