  • Garlieston Straight Road - Latest Update

Comments Off on Garlieston Straight Road - Latest Update

As many of you will be aware, Mostly Ghostly have carried out a number of investigations on the Garlieston Straight Road in Wigtownshire, a road allegedly haunted by the ghost of a young girl who is seen standing by the roadside, dressed in white. You may also be aware that since we’ve been investigating the Straight, we’ve come across many strange and thought-provoking occurrences, however we have never actually witnessed the little girl who first sparked our interest in the area.

Last night (31st May/1st June) we found ourselves back in this beautiful part of the world following an unexpected turn of events. To cut a long story short, we had to re-schedule the investigation we had originally planned and decided to make the best use of our time by re-visiting the Garlieston Road to conduct further research.

It was a calm, mild and peaceful evening, with only a flutter of wind and the sounds of nature all around us, very pleasant indeed. We began our evening by taking a stroll along the road for about a mile then returning to our car where we usually park up at the Penkiln Road End. At this stage of the evening, nothing unusual was picked up, infact everything felt at peace.

We drove to another familiar spot on the road – one of the Kilsture Forest road-ends and parked up. Although getting dark within the impressive tree- tunnels, it was still quite light as we got out of the car and began walking towards the milestone where the girl was witnessed back in 2008 (see Scots Mag article in Mostly Media). Around this time, James alerted the team to a tingling sensation he was feeling in his legs, it was a feeling that stood out to him, something out of the ordinary which didn’t last for very long. We invited spirit communication several times and James reported the feeling coming and going. Mary also picked up a sensation in her legs and began to feel much colder than you would expect on such a night.

We started to approach the milestone again and Kathleen, aware of what has happened in the past, hesitantly asked out for the little girl. She noted John seemed to be picking up on something and was pretty sure from the outset it was Albert, a farm labourer who has been in contact with the team since January 2009. James felt a more powerful sensation around this time and Kathleen asked John what he was picking up.

In brief, a communication proceeded to take place between the team and the spirit we believe to be Albert Johnstone. The tone and atmosphere was completely different to our February investigation (watch out for summary report) and Albert’s attitude was far warmer towards us. By communicating through John, Albert informed us of developments with the young girl in his care – we believe this to be the same girl that is often seen on the road. These developments admittedly surprised the team and as with many investigations, we were left with more questions than answers John felt powerful emotions as Albert shared this information and Kathleen also felt emotional as he spoke with her (through John) on a more personal level.

The activity on this stretch of road never ceases to amaze and challenge the team. We look forward to learning more in the years to come.

Look out for the new Investigation Reports section which will be arriving shortly. There you can whet your appetitie with our new summary-style reports as well as examples of the full, more detailed versions. You can obtain further information on any of our findings by contacting the team through our website or by phoning 07791 047835 or 07912 145865. You can also follow us on Twitter.
