Trigger Objects

  • Tea light candles – To be used for vigils in order to aid focus and determine nearby draughts
  • Household candles – 1 x pack of candles to be used e.g. during baseline tests to detect drafts, we can tape two together just in case one of the wicks are faulty
  • Magnetic Letters – 1 x set of brightly coloured magnetic letters to be used to attract spirit activity e.g. mis-spell a known name or relevant word to see if any spirits present re-arrange letters to spell out a word or correct it.
  • Iron Filings – 1 x set of iron filings, a metal tray and strong magnet to detect disturbance in the Earth’s magnetic field
  • Blackboard – 1 x blackboard and chalks, again to be used in a similar fashion to the magnetic letters.  We hope that these will be widely recognised by spirits throughout the ages.
  • Glass of water – This may be used with or without food colouring in order to attract spirit activity, kitchen towel can be placed beneath the glass to denote spillage
  • Pack of Cards – 1 x pack of playing cards to encourage spirit interaction since they should be fairly recognizable to spirits from different points throughout history
  •
  • Pencil and paper – A sheet of paper can be taped underneath a closed door with a pencil attached to the door itself – if the door is moved, the pencil will leave a mark on the paper
  • Other objects – Objects relevant to each individual location will be used  appropriately, as these may be more likely to be recognised by any spirits present

    • Batteries – we will require a good stock of batteries, different types and sizes
    • Battery chargers for various pieces of equipment
    • Equipment case – a case with foam padding will be useful for carrying and protecting our equipment.  Some of the equipment will have its own case for an extra protective layer
    • Flour – We will use a flour shaker for distributing flour over surfaces to highlight any physical imprints – useful in terms of recording forms of spirit and non-spirit activity
    • Vaseline/Spray cooking oil – this can be sprayed or spread across a surface e.g. a mirror, again this will show signs of any physical interaction

    • Two camping lanterns
